🦁 Top Safari Parks in Uganda

1. Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Location: Southwestern Uganda, near Bwindi.

  • Highlights:

    • Tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha Sector.

    • Classic game drives across Kasenyi Plains.

    • Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel (hippos, buffalo, elephants).

    • High bird diversity (600+ species).

  • Wildlife: Elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, hippos, warthogs, antelope, crocodiles.

2. Murchison Falls National Park

  • Location: Northwestern Uganda.

  • Highlights:

    • Easiest park to access from Kampala/Entebbe.

    • Best for walking safaris and biking/game viewing.

  • Wildlife: Zebras, impalas, elands, hippos, crocodiles, leopards (rarely seen).

  • No elephants or lions, making it great for low-key safaris or family-friendly visits.

5. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (not a full safari park, but important!)

  • Location: En route to Murchison Falls.

  • Highlight: Only place in Uganda to see wild rhinos (on foot).

🚙 Safari Logistics

  • Best times: Dry seasons (June–August and December–February).

  • 4×4 vehicles recommended year-round due to rough roads.
